Look Great Without Makeup with These Cosmetic Dermatology Treatments

AMany typical morning routines for women include waking up, having breakfast, getting dressed, fixing their hair and then “applying their face.” Applying your face, or putting on makeup, doesn’t have to be part of your daily routine anymore though.

More and more women are showing off their natural beauty and natural skin. When they aren’t, instead of applying makeup they are opting for cosmetic dermatology services. The dermatologists at Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute can teach you and provide you with these services.

Cosmetic Dermatology Options

Whether it is because you don’t prefer going au natural or you are done with applying makeup each and every day, permanent cosmetics can help save you time and boost your confidence. With permanent makeup you can wake up with filled in eyebrows from microblading, lip blushing and permanent eyeliner.

Microblading

Microblading is for those wanting darker or more filled in eyebrows. Keep in mind that this is a semi-permanent procedure that will require you to continually have treatments if you want to. After a few shades of color are mixed to match your natural brow color the pigment is placed under your skin using a hand tool with tiny, fine-point needles. Additionally, the one hour procedure you can finally take a look in the mirror and see the instant results. Results last one to three years with yearly (cheaper) touch-ups needed.

Keep in mind there’s no sweating or getting your brows too wet for one week after the procedure. Depending on where you have microblading done the price varies between $500 and $2,000. It’s up to you to decide if you can put a cost on a procedure that will save you time every morning and money from not buying anymore brow products.

Lip Blushing

Lip blushing is exactly what its name states: a blush lip. Permanent lip makeup is essentially a lip tattoo of sheer color across your entire lip. A similar tool used to give tattoos is used on your lips. The resulting lip color is a subtle shade resembling your natural lip color. Lips don’t retain color as well as other areas of the skin so more than one treatment is often necessary. After the touch-ups, results last up to one year. Also, pain and swelling can be an issue for up to a week as well. Each appointment can cost you up to $1,400.

Permanent Eyeliner

Permanent eyeliner is another morning time-saver option. Instead of rolling out of bed and trying to use the steadiest hand to apply your eyeliner, you can wake up with It already on. A traditional eyeliner tattoo will look like your normal everyday eyeliner. If you want the effect of fuller lashes, the liner tattoo will be applied within your actual lash line. Both options last up to 18 months and will set you back $200 to $600, depending on whether you get the top and bottom done, or just one or the other.

You can’t go wrong with permanent makeup or a natural, bare face. It is all about what gives you the most confidence. If you are in Bloomington, Illinois or surrounding areas and want to give permanent make-up a try, contact us. The dermatologists at Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute can help you decide which option is best for you and provide the cosmetic services for you.
